Pukatawagan (fishing place) is a northern reserve located 700 miles north of Winnipeg Manitoba. Population is approximately 2000 people on and off reserve. The people of Pukatawagan were first located at High Rock reserve, until unfortunate circumstances forced a relocation, to where they are today. Pukatawagan 40 years ago was a reserve without adequate basic needs such as electricity, water, sewer, housing, education, and health care. Pukatawagan has come a long way since the 1960's with the assistance of former and present chiefs and councilors. It is now the new millennium and Pukatawagan has progressed with adequate education, health care, water, and sewer etc. Pukatawagan has been progressive and will continue with new technology and resources.
